A Digital Citizen is one who uses appropriate, responsible behavior with regard to technology use. Our students can learn to navigate both in the real world and in the online world as citizens. They will have the opportunity to acquire skills to help them navigate the Internet and develop their strengths, abilities, and knowledge of the technology around them.
Working Together to support 21st Century Learners!
There are many dangers to students being online without the proper guidance, tools, and supports.
Technology is a huge part of our daily lives and education. Our students need to know how to best access the Internet as they are networking on a wide range of platforms (MacArthur Foundation). Part of being a successful 21st Century Student is having the skills to collaborate, be creative, communicate, and think critically across many platforms.
As educators, it is our job to provide these learning environments for our students to learn and develop their skills. It is important that our students acquire the right tools to be successful Digital Citizens!
